Electrical Safety (29CFR1910.332 and Subpart S)

Different levels of training are required based on employee job function. Employees must be trained in safe work practices when dealing with electrical energy.

 

Awareness—Basics of electricity are addressed along with electrical hazards, electrical shock, cords/wires/fixtures, and grounding.  NOTE: This training is frequently combined with Lock-Out/Tag-Out training.

 

Qualified Electrical—The NFPA 70E regulation is covered along with advanced electricity safety topics such as arc flash, working on energized conductors, and testing equipment.
